Established in 2014, Grace Lake Partners is a venture studio based in Lagos, Nigeria. Founded on the philosophy of Creating Shared Value, GLP builds, operates and scales profitable businesses that address critical socio-economic needs across Africa, whilst creating economic value for the company’s shareholders. GLP’s core mission is to “build an Africa we can all be proud to call home.” To date, GLP has founded companies in healthcare, media, and retail.

How We Got Our Name
Grace
The word ‘GRACE’ is derived from the Latin word Gratia, meaning grateful. In Greek mythology, Grace symbolizes human creativity, beauty and nature. Both definitions illuminate Grace Lake Partners’ strategy of parlaying innovative, socially-conscious ideas into profitable businesses that address societal needs whilst creating economic value for GLP and its shareholders.
Lake
Lagos – Africa’s largest mega city, is one of the fastest growing cities in the world; financially, economically and in terms of population.
Paying homage to Lagos, the birthplace of our humble beginning, the word ‘LAKE’ – derived from the Portuguese translation of Lagos – was adopted.
The word lake also reflects GLP’s pledge to cultivate prosperous and sustainable commercial relationships that are based on transparency, civility and respect.
